Here are some of the sites I’ve built or contributed to:
Bullion Bay
Bullion Bay is a penny auction site that I developed using a heavily hacked Ubercart Auction module. I implemented real-time updates with Node.js. I had never heard of this technology before starting the project, was not that comfortable with Unix, so getting it all to work was quite a challenge.
Technologies used: Drupal 7, Ubercart, Node.js

As part of the TEI Web Solutions team, I developed a module to automatically sync the site’s inventory and orders from a back-office. I also implemented various custom logic around the shopping cart and the site in general.

Queer Active
Queer Active is the Lower Mainland’s go-to resource for queer youth (16-25) wanting to participate in the many queer sports organizations in the region. Whether it be to get or stay fit; meet new queer friends of all ages in a non-bar setting; to learn a new sport or to help you come-out in a safe & understanding environment, you’ve found the organization that can help you achieve all this and more!
I built this site from scratch, starting with the Twenty Twelve theme and creating a heavily customised child. I also added an e-commerce section to sell sports gear and accept donations.
Technologies used: WordPress, WP e-Commerce

Vancouver Gay Volleyball Association
The VGVA has been promoting a gay-positive and inclusive play environment for over 30 years; it is one of the Lower Mainland’s longest-operating volunteer-run sports groups.
In November of 2011 I finished my second redesign of VGVA.com: the site now runs on WordPress with a custom theme, and sports a revamped layout that better displays sponsors and announcements. Under the hood, I implemented quite a bit of custom logic, including a control panel allowing non-techy people to configure time-sensitive information for (e.g.) tournaments and registration.
Technologies used: WordPress (front-end & back-end), AJAX

Lou Crockett Design
This graphics portfolio had been originally done in Flash, but the code was old and failing in most recent browsers. I re-implemented the site in WordPress with a custom theme and, in collaboration with the artist, reworked much of the layout and functionality.
